Workplace & Employment Mediation
This two-day course held via Zoom, covers both the theoretical and practical elements required for accreditation as a specialist Workplace and Employment mediator, by the Civil Mediation Council, for delegates who already hold accreditation as Civil and Commercial Mediators.
Day 1: Workplace & Employment Mediation - Background and Theory
- Context and Definitions.
- Procedural and Legal Implictions.
- The Changing Workplace & Sources of Conflict.
- The Workplace & Employment Mediation Process.
- The Business Case for Mediation
Day 2: Workplace & Employment Mediation - Practical Considerations and Skills.
- Confidentiality, The Agreement to Mediate & Settlement Agreements.
- Initial Stakeholders Meetings and Participant Pre-Meetings.
- The Mediation and Specialist Skills.
- Putting it all into Practice.
Who is this for?
This course, held via Zoom, is intended for those delegates that have already achieved accreditation as a Civil & Commercial Mediator and who wish to make the specialist area of workplace and employment mediation part of their offering.
This course attracts 12 hours CPD, and successful completion will satisfy the requirements of the Civil Mediation Council for accreditation as a Workplace and Employment Mediator.
It is desirable, although not essential, that delegates have had experience in either Human Resources and/or Leadership and Management roles or in Employment Law. It is essential that delegates have a genuine interest in people and humanity.
About the tutor
John Sephton is an experienced mediator and leadership professional with specialist skills in business coaching, behavioural change, achievement, and conflict resolution. He holds Chartered Fellowships with the CIPD and the CMI.
Following a career as an Officer in the Royal Navy, John has utilised his skills to working with senior leaders and teams within organisations, as well as with individuals in achieving clarity of purpose and / or resolving conflict in the often seemingly intractable challenges that can be encountered in the workplace.
