Once again (as part of a programme in its nineth year) we are delighted to offer this course to King's Collge Students inhouse at KCL to support the pro bono project.

As in October 2020, this course will in February 2021 conducted globally on Zoom reaching students in 17 to 20 countries and in ten time zones.

It is led by the Trustees of the Society who volunteer their time and provide outstanding tuition.

The feedback and networking is remarkable.

Designed for students (both Law and non-law, graduate and undergraduate) with little or no previous mediation training and recognised by the Civil Mediation Council and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Successful completion of this course and the assessment stage will result in certification as an accredited mediator.

    Society of Mediators' logo

We have assembled a world-class group of trainers and educators for the programme. Unlike other mediation "schools", "colleges", or organisations who make the same or similar bold claims, all our trainers actually mediate regularly, and have many years of experience so doing. Our trainers are diverse, and have worked internationally to great acclaim. They have seen and delivered mediation in different contexts, communities, and commercial settings. They have built successful practises and can draw on thousands of mediations when they teach. With that very real knowledge of what it is like, acting as a neutral between those in conflict, our course students learn practical and pragmatic mediation.

The training is recognised and accredited worldwide. Our course leader co- founded the Civil Mediation Council and helped establish bodies in other countries. This exceptional pedigree offers you, or your organisation, the assurance of complete confidence and commercial competence. It is mediation - for your future.

  • Course Schedule - 25 hours BSB/SRA CPD Points

Our courses follow the highly successful model it has introduced and seen adopted around the world with a 1:7 or better tutor to delegate ratio and internationally renowned leaders. The days are intensive but time flies, such is the quality of the teaching and the excitement that sheer immersion in the subject brings.

The role plays and subjects for Medical Mediation courses are tailored to that specialism but also offer wider commercial and workplace elements t enable delegates to work in the broader context of fee paying work if they wish. They include specific workplace, patient and administrative issues which are commonly encountered and are contemporary in nature as well as more general issues.

Feedback has been exceptional from delegates that include Chief Justices and Ministers, Doctors and Dentists, Lawyers and Pilots, Musicians, Students, Florists, Bankers and Entrepreneurs.
    • Further Professional Development
The Society believes that training and development does not end upon completion of the basic accredited mediation training course. Mediation and the skills which this professional entails benefits from life long learning and review of ones practice. To this end the society also offers Advanced Mediation Training, Workplace Mediation Training as well as Evaluative Mediation Training (including specialist courses on Costs, Workplace & Employment and Clinical Negligence & Personal Injury). A Diploma in Mediation is also in development.
